The Churchill assembly of CRC Churches International (then known as Christian Revival

Crusade) was commenced as an outreach from Moe in 1983 under the leadership of Steve

& Remey Gunsser. In 1994, after several years of meeting in school halls and the local

leisure Centre, the assembly leased the old childcare Centre in Maple Crescent. During this

time, many international students from Monash University were part of the fellowship.

In 2016 the church ceased Sunday services in the Maple Crescent venue. After some years

meeting only as a weeknight fellowship,

we resumed Sunday services at the beginning of

2020, initially meeting in Studio 1 and later in the Churchill Public Hall. Pandemic restrictions

in 2020-2021 meant that there were times when we were only able to do online meetings,

and other times when we met on Sundays in a private home.

In 2021, we began searching for a more secure home base for our fellowship. We enquired

about the old Hazelwood South Hall on Tramway Road with the result that, in April 2022, we

signed a licensed agreement to use the hall for five years.

After much work fixing up the old

building, we had our first Sunday service there in October 2022 with an official opening night

on 19th November.

Churchill Christian Fellowship is an Incorporated Association, affiliated with “CRC Churches

International.” Our style of service is a mix of both traditional and contemporary. Our basic

beliefs and style are known styles are known as Pentecostal.

Pentecostal churches believe and teach the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial Bible

evidence of speaking in unknown tongues and the developing evidence of the fruit of the

Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23.) Also, that the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in Romans 12:6-

8 and 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 are still relevant for today. We regularly pray for the sick, often

using the biblical pattern described in James 5:13-15.

We believe that God has designed for His Church, under the ultimate headship of Jesus

Christ Himself, is to be governed by elders and deacons. However, as at January 2025,

Churchill Christian Fellowship is still officially an outreach church under Moe New Life

Christian Centre. Our Committee of Management, which looks after all the day-to-day affairs

of the fellowship, reports regularly to the Moe Oversight and the Moe church regularly

provides extra ministry to Churchill

We believe that the Christian Bible is the Word of God, and that it reveals God plan for

salvation to all who will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and his atoning death on Calvary.

When people repent of their sins and believe in their heart that He is their Saviour and Lord,

they will be born again as new creations in the Holy Spirit.

We also believe in water baptism by full immersion as a public declaration of faith in Christ.

And, as much as possible, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper (communion) at least every

Sunday.

We are committed to the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the

nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you

always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19,20)” and the Great Commandment: “A

new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you

also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one

another (John 13:34,35)."

We uphold the value of the traditional family unit and the strength that healthy relationships

We trust that the following is a good summary of our fellowship.

 Bible based preaching and teaching

 Christ-centered worship, and

 Holy Spirit empowered minister.
